Enfield-Fishing Creek Paddle

DATE:   Saturday, May 10, 2014
LOCATION:   Join us for a scenic 5 1/2-mile paddle along Fishing Creek near Enfield, North Carolina.
DIRECTIONS:   From I-95, take Exit 154 for NC-481. Follow Paddle Signs.
EVENT SCHEDULE:   8:00-8:30 am: Sign-in, drop canoes/kayaks, & grab coffee at the launch site.

8:30-9:00 am: Drop vehicles at take out point & ride shuttle back to launch site.

9:00-9:30 am: Paddlers embark!

11:30-12:30 pm: Paddlers arrive at take out point parking area.

12:30-1:30 pm: Lunch & music provided at Jennie's Beans & Buns Coffee Shop, 116 N Dennis St, Enfield, NC
REGISTRATION FEE:   $30 per person, which includes lunch and t-shirt! For groups of 4 registering together the fee is $25 each. (Please note that t-shirts are ordered in advance of event, to make sure you get your size, please register early)
CANOE RENTAL:   Canoes and kayaks are available for an additional $25/kayak and $35/canoe. Paddles and Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) are included with each rental.
HOW TO REGISTER:   Complete and mail or bring your registration form below along with your registration fee no later than Friday, May 9th, 2013.
LIABILITY WAIVERS:   Everyone must sign liability waivers the day of the event. A parent/guardian must sign if the participant is under 18 years old. Please let us know if you are member of the American Canoe Association, which is insuring this event.

Enfield Peanut Festival
The 2014 Enfield Peanut Festival will be held on Friday, October 3rd from 6 pm until 9 pm with a block party. Vendors and entertainment will be held on Saturday, October 4th beginning at 12 noon till 8 pm..

For more information regarding vendors, entertainment, etc. at the Peanut Festival, please contact Jerry Powell at jpowell@enfieldnc.org or call 252.445.5122.

You may also read the Peanut Festival Vendor Letter for more information and complete the Peanut Festival Vendor application. The complete application, along with a $25.00 vendor fee, should be submitted to:

NOTE to Food Vendors Only / Deadline is Sept. 19
All Food Vendors must submit an Application for a T.F.E. to the Health Department at least 14 days prior to the Peanut Festival, and changes to the menu must be approved within 3 days of the Peanut Festival.

Volunteers Needed for Against Crime/Back to School/Halloween
The Enfield Police Department is seeking volunteers from area churches, store vendors, citizens, teachers, parents and students to help assist with the following upcoming events. Town of Enfield Board Meetings
Work Sessions are held every third Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. Public Meetings are held immediately after the Work Session. Meetings will be held at the Municipal Building, located at 200 Whitfield Street. For more information contact the Town Clerk at (252) 445-3146 ext. 22.




Enfield Planning & Zoning Board
Regular meetings will be held the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Municipal building. The board of Adjustments will meet the same night at 8:00 pm or as soon as the planning/zoning board meeting adjourns.
